RULES GOVERNING REMITTANCE OF SCHOOL FEE
i) Any student fees under any category - except caution deposit - once paid cannot be refunded to the parents/student, under any circumstances, even if the student does not attend school for a single day.
ii) The total annual fee payable in subsequent years in subject to annual revision.
iii) The due dates for the two installments are April 1st & October 1st. The pay-by dates (last date for payment without late fee) for the aforesaid installments are April 15th and October 15th respectively.
iv) Failure to pay any of the two installments before their respective pay-by dates attracts late payment fine. The late fee is levied @ Rs.10/- per day for the first month commencing from the very next day after the pay-by date of a particular installment.
v) Even after the lapse of one month from the pay-by date, if an installment of a student's school fee is still due, the admission of the student is terminated. When admission is terminated under such circumstances, the parent forfeits the caution deposit of the student.
vi) The mode of payment is by cash or Demand Drafts which are encashable (payable) at Hyderabad / Secunderabad and drawn in favour of "Abhyasa Residential Public School". Cheques and Credit Cards are not acceptable.
vii) Fees could be remitted either at the campus office at Toopran (on any day of the week between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.) or at the city office at Secunderabad (Moanday to Saturday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.). Please obtain a receipt for any payment made to the school. The school is not responsible for remittances made without obtaining an official receipt from the school.
viii) Parents/guardians should preserve the receipts obtained from the school and furnish the same to the school authorities if and whenever necessary.
ix) Student Pocket Money: All Students can obtain stationery, confectionery and toiletry items throughout the year, from the school tuck shop - against the 'pocket money deposit' paid as part of school fee. Medicines for illnesses and expenses on field trips and sports and tournaments and matches held out side school are also debited against pocket money. Any expenditure during an academic year that exceeds the stipulated pocket money deposits shall be reimbursed by the parents at the end of the academic year, upon furnishing the bills.
PROCEDURE OF ADMISSION
STEP 1 : Obtain application form and prospectus from the campus office or city office.
STEP II : Register your child/ward for entrance test - cum interview, by submitting the filled-in application form and other documents (mentioned in the application form). The application form may be submitted by hand at the city office or the campus office or mailed to either of the offices by registered post - along with registration fee of Rs.500/-
STEP III : After registration, the school office will provide you with a syllabus for the entrance test along with details of test date and test procedures. If you do not receive such information (letter) and syllabus within ten days of registration (submission of application you should contact the city office (Phone : 040-27822600) or the campus office (Phones 08454-235718 or 235966 or 235977 immediately).
STEP IV : The school will conduct tests for entry to variopus classes, depending on the vacancies. The first round of tests will be conducted in the month of April, the second round in the month of May and the final round (only if vacancies still exist) in the month of June. The entrance test will have an oral component and written component. Both the parents are required to accompany the child for the entrance exam. Incase either of the parent is unable to accompany the child, a written letter of consent - declaring the parent's interest and willingness to admit his/her child to Abhyasa, after familiarizing with the system and philosophy of education of Abhyasa - should be produced at the time of interview.
STEP V : Once the candidate qualifies in the admission test, the parents will be given a letter of admission on the same day. The parent / guardian is required to pay the necessary admission fee, caution deposit and first installment of school fee within one week on receipt of the admission letter. The notebooks and textbooks will be issued to the candidate at the school tuck shop on remittance of the first installment of school fee. The parents are also required to submit the original transfer certificate issued by the candidate's previous school. Please note that admission formalities are complete only after submitting the transfer certificate.
STEP VI : After completing the admission formalities, the candidate should report at the school campus on the date of re-opening - mentioned in the admission letter. The parents should submit a medical history sheet of the child, which should be duly certified by a registered medical practitioner. The candidate should bring all the list of articles mentioned in the prospectus / admission letter, along with him/her, at the time of joining the school. The articles brought will be enlisted in the dormitory register by the concerned house master / matron. The school will then issue and admission card to the parents / guardians of the candidate. This card should be furnished to the school security during parent visits. All admission formalities are complete with the issue of admission card.
1. Rules governing admission:
a. Admission to the school is based on merit i.e., performance by the candidate in the
oral and written entrance test, irrespective of his/her caste, creed or community.
b. The admission and first installment fee has to be paid to the school within the stipulated
time (as mentioned in the letter of admission), failing which the admission would bewithdrawn and preference would be given to the candidate who is next in the merit
list.
c. Once the fees are paid, the candidate is provisionally admitted to the school and
admissions will be finalized only after the parents submit the "Original Transfer
Certificate" from the previous school.
d. The original school-cleaving certificate from the previous school should be submitted
before 15th of June of the academic year in which the student is admitted to Abhyasa.
e. If the Transfer Certificate is not submitted within the required time, the provisional
admission will stand cancelled and under such circumstances, any kind of fee already
paid to the school will not refunded to the student / parent.
f. Admission for candidates, who fail to join school for whatever reasons, does not
hold good for the successive academic years and the admission fee, caution deposit
and school fee are neither refundable nor transferable.
2. Withdrawal of admission by the school
a. The head of the institution reserves the absolute right at his discretion, to issue Transfer
Certificate to any pupil, if:
i) He is not satisfied with the general conduct of the student, on the campus
(or)
ii) The student is absent from the school campus without sanction of leave, for more than a week, during the session/term.
(or)
iii) The student is found to practice unfair means in tests and exams.
b. If the parents/guardians fail to pay the subsequent installments of the school fee on
time, their child/ ward is liable to be withdrawn from school, after giving due notice
to the parent / guardian regarding the same. Under such circumstances the caution
deposit will be forfeited and Transfer Certificate will not be issued till the dues are
cleared.
c. If it is discovered at a later date that any of the information furnished by the parent/
guardian in the application form (including Medical History sheet) is false, the
Principal has the right to cancel the admission.
d. If it is found that the student does not put in the minimum efforts to score the qualifying
marks for promotion, in spite of the best efforts of his/her teachers, the Principal may
terminate the admission of such students, after issuing a warning.
e. In matter of admission and issue of "Transfer Certificate" the decision of the Principal
is final and binding on the parents/ guardians of the student concerned.
3. Withdrawal of child by parent / guardian
a. Parent / Guardians intending to withdraw their child/ward from the school should
apply for a Transfer Certificate (T.C.)
b. The application for Transfer Certificate should be made in writing by the Parent or
the authorized guardian of the pupil, along with a fee of Rs.100/-
c. Transfer Certificate will be issued to those student's whole fees and dues have been
fully paid for the academic year in which the T.C. is sought.
d. Application for Transfer Certificate should be made in the month of February or March
only. Applications for T.C. will not be accepted after March 31st or the last working
day of academic year.
e. Parents who apply for a Transfer Certificate after the above-specified date are liable
to pay a terms fee for the succeeding academic year.
f. If a Transfer Certificate is sought during the currency of an academic year, the Certificate
will be issued only when the regular school fees for the full year is duly paid.
g. Transfer Certificate will not be issued to students withdrawn after completion of
class IX.
4. Refund of Caution Deposit
a. Caution deposit will be refunded to parents/guardians when the student leaves the
school:
i) On completion of his studies at school
(or)
ii) At the end of any academic year, if the parents / guardians of the child wish to withdraw the child from school
(or) iii) Upon being expelled from school on disciplinary grounds.
b. Caution deposit will be refunded to the parent / guardian only at the end of an academic
/accounting year i.e., after March 31st Caution deposit will not be refundable during
the currency of an academic year, expect in the month of April.
c. Parents who withdraw a student after class IX will forfeit their caution deposit unless
the school has a new admission as a replacement for the outgoing student in class X
of the succeeding academic year.
d. If the parents fail to collect the caution deposit money within one year of the pupil's
withdrawal from the school, the amount will be forfeited.
e. Caution Deposit is refunded through cheques issued in favour of parent / First
Guardian of the student - Refunds are made on written requisitions by the parent /
Guardian - who need to personally collect the cheque and acknowledge receipt of
the same. The school does refund caution money through D.Ds nor cash nor through
mail transfers.
RULES CONCERNING STUDENT BEHAVIOUR ON THE ABHYASA CAMPUS
- The school discourages inappropriate interactions between girls and boys on the campus.The interaction is limited strictly to curriculum transactions only.
- The school management takes all necessary steps to ensure the safety of the pupils within the campus. At the same time, the school authorities will not be responsible for any untoward incident caused due to the negligence of the child or factors beyond anybody's control.
- No money should be given to the child by the parents at any time during his/her stay in the hostel. The school is not accountable for any actions of the student due to the possession of such monies. Any money if absolutely necessary for the students should be paid at the school office as extra pocket money and receipt should be obtained for the same.Such monies will be debited to the student's tuck shop account.
- Expensive items such as cameras, video games, tape recorders are not permitted to be kept with the child as personal belongings. Costly watches and gold ornaments are also prohibited.
- If any school property is destroyed by a student the cost thereof will be deducted from the student's caution deposit.
- The Principal fo the school reserves the absolute right to terminate the admission / continuation of a student on the school campus, if his/her behaviour is found to be detrimental to the psychological, emotional and physical well being of other students on the campus. The student will however be forewarned to modify his / her behaviour and the parents would also be intimated about the same.
- The application for admission to Abhyasa elicits all types of information about the student - which is provided by the student's parents/guardians, under oath. Any deliberate attempt to withhold information or furnishing of false information by the parents is a serious offence under law. Strict action may be initiated under such circumstances.
CAMPUS RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR PARENTS
- The school authorities will issue student photo identity cards to the parent's guardians of the student at the time of admission to the school.
- Any person other than the parents desirous of meeting a student on the school campus should produce such an identity card or a letter from the parents to the school personnel, in order to meet the child. Note : Unauthorized persons will not be allowed to meet the child.
- The school will also maintain a list of visitors authorized by the parent to visit their child on the school campus.
- Parents may visit their child/ward only on the notified Sundays/holidays during the academic year.The dates for visits are specified in the calendar of events.
- Visiting hours are restricted between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. on the notified Sundays and holidays.
- Parents should contact the school office immediately upon reaching the campus, without fail, so that
Parents may receive any relevant information, which the school authorities would like to convey to them
Parents bringing lunch for their child during Sunday visit should intimate the school authorities about the same to avoid wastage at the school mess.
Parents who wish to have lunch may inform the front office in charge and collect the meal coupon after paying the necessary charges.
- Visitors are not permitted to meet students during the school working days - except on notified Sundays. Parents who would like to visit students on birthdays should visit the campus after obtaining prior permission from the Principal / Vice-Principal.
- Visits by parents/guardians on any other than those prescribed will not be entertained except with prior permission from the Principal or the Vice-Principal.
- Visits by parents / interested in celebrating the birthday of their child can do so in a quiet corner on the campus, without involving any other children. No other student of Abhyasa, except the real brother or sister of the birthday boy/girl will be allowed to participate in such celebration.
- During visits, parents are required to park their vehicles in the allotted parking area only and are not permitted to drive their vehicles beyond the parking area into the campus.
- Parents can meet children only in the specified areas earmarked for such meetings. Parents are not allowed to other parts of the campus as a matter of right.
- Parents are not allowed to enter the student dormitories. They should contact the Matron / the School office for any assistance.
- Parents are not allowed to take their child out of the campus during their visits to the school.
- No eatables should be given to the students that could be kept in the dormitory cupboard. If the House Master / Matron finds any eatables other than those sold in the tuck shop, he / she has the right to confiscate them and distribute the same to all the students.
- On visits, parents should get the visitors' slip signed by the Principal/Vice-Principal and present the same toa the security while leaving the campus.
- All the parents are required to attend every 'Parent-Teacher meeting' held occasionally on the campus.
- Any change, however temporary, in address and telephone number of the parents / guardians of the child should be immediately notified to the school authorities in writing.
- The Abhyasa management maintains a sacred atmosphere and upholds refined behaviour on the school campus and expects the same from parents and visitors. Smoking is strictly prohibited and visitors who have consumed alcohol shall not be allowed on the campus. Any behaviour of parents or their accomplices which sets a bad example for the students on the campus shall be viewed seriously by the school management and may even lead to the termination of admission of the schild whose parents / guardians have indulged in such behaviour.
- The school management reserves the right to cancel or modify any of the rules and regulations and formulate new rules from time to time, which will be duly notified to all the parents / candidates.
- Parents and visitors on the campus should adhere to the dress code of Abhyasa. Indian or Western outfits which are sober (formal or informal) are permitted. Distractive skin - fitting clothes, sleeve-less uppers and half or 3/4 lowers are strictly prohibited. Persons not adhering to the dress code will not be permitted on the campus.
- Don't handover cell phone to your child (his / her friends) - on the pretext of making calls to the family members. All calls from the visitor's cell phone should be made in the presence of the visitor.
- Don't entertain 'students of the opposite sex' of your child/ward unless it is a sibling / cousin to join you for lunch / snacks during your visits.
- Be selective in buying greeting cards, gift items etc for your child's use at school. Do not give them to your child unless you verify the purpose.
TELEPHONE CALLS
a. In order to avoid students maintaining unwanted or unnecessary friendship with
outsiders only calls from the child's parents / guardians would be forwarded to
students. The telephone operator would ask for the caller's identity and unless parents
/ guardians are personally on the line; the student would not be called. Even the calls
from brother/sister/cousins etc will not be entertained.
b. Schedule of telephone calls for the students of various classes - during the weekdays
- will be specified to the parents at the time of admission. Parents should adhere to
the timings specified and must adhere to the average duration of 5 minutes.
c. Parents desirous of speaking to any of the office bearers may ring up during the
specified timings as mentioned in the instructions furnished to parents at the
commencement of the academic year.
d. The school is not responsible for busy lines. To avoid "waiting time" - parents are
advised to issue "B.S.N.L. Indian Telecom Card" (pre-paid card) to their child, who
could call parents during the prescribed days / timings.
e. Parents making frequent calls without any valid reason will be disturbing their child
and such calls will not be entertained, as per the discretion of school management.
Calls are strictly restricted to one per week / per student.
f. During term-end examinations, telephone calls will not be directed to students, for a
period of 15 days, i.e. just before vacation, as it would disturb their preparation for the
examinations. However parents could call the respective school officials and make
enquiries about the child or pass - on a message to the child through the school officials.
